Oh wicked, lucky I didn't use the Skulls Iwo Jima diorama I had myself smile.gif Where is the Dark Angel dude from it though?

Bloody nice work smile.gif
Mortus The Corrupter
Nice!

LOL Tom, no secret as to which one is yours wink.gif
Buddha
Haha, no, I worked this one into something I might use in a game in the future at least smile.gif
Jester of Death

great entries by all.

but in comparison to round 1 and 2.. i dunno i feel these dont measure up like the previous rounds.

i dunno maybe iam just being too picky in this half sleep state.
Buddha
I think the Iwo Jima is one of the best, as far as neatness goes, that we have seen yet... i have a feeling it belongs to my fellow 3rd place contender though, but thats just a hunch smile.gif

I will admit I didn't have as much time to do this one as round one... painting with 2 puffy black eyes was definately a challenge!!

Mine was last minute in the midst of crippling back pain, so no...not as good as previous rounds.

Congratulations Mouse smile.gif

Buddha - I left the Dark Angel off, as it doesn't photograph well with his back to the camera - also, he's the only one who isn't holding on to the flag. I think the pose (waving his hands around, pretending to help) is a bit weird...

I managed to paint another long-unpainted set of figures, though, so the painting challenge has done what it needed to wink.gif Composition is still a bit of a black box, for me - not entirely sure what it involves, but I managed to score slightly higher there than in the last two rounds.

I won't be joining in for the next one, as I now have way too many figures that need painting for the Skirmish Sundays and my Judgement of Legends diary... the three rounds have been good fun, but it's time I got stuck into finishing off some warbands.

Thanks to JoD and Nzarra for running it smile.gif

composition is really about how the figure is posed, how it interacts with its base, how features are used to draw attention etc etc

its a hard one sometimes as it is naturally easier to get these marks when you have converted and themed the model than when you have painted a standard 'factory' pose - that is probably why your comp is slightly down on your other two marks in this case - although your decision to leave off DA and reasoning behind it are classic examples of considering the composition.

I know there where personal and health issues as well as time issues but for example I am sure we would have all loved to see JulietV8s model based - and the basing may have allowed it to be better tied to the victory theme - comp and theme probably interrelate more than painting although it takes all three to obtain that 'wow' model.
julietv8
It was supposed to be based in snow with "bill" lying down in it after his heart explodes. Unfortunately after a week of being stuck in bed and trying to finish in a haze of painkillers....yeah...not so good. Sorry to disappoint everyone, I did what I could.
