Sanguinary Guard new squad

The Sanguinor - special character something akin to Saint Celestine

Astorath - new character, High Chaplain

And finally LEMARTES! Not looking like crap anymore...

Gabriel Seth, chapter master of the Flesh Tearers

Woah some nice models. Now I know where to get the models for my angels army...lol

Edit: Made it clearer for people to see what the models are.

Ah. Well I guess I was still sleep blind when I looked. I did see the Space Hulk one but that's not necessarily a BA forum...it just happens to talk about them.
The other one - I did look but, well, Fail to me.
At least I got pics though. That makes me uber

I edited the original with name tags for those without the initiative to go look for themselves...

The rules dot points are a bit psychotic too, Blood Angels are back to the good old days of 3rd ed. My personal favourite is that all BA vehicles (except dreads and land raiders) are Fast vehicles, but raiders and dreads can be dropped off by thunderhawks to make up for it.

Blood angels are the one chapter where overdone is quite characterful. I quite like the new models and am keen to see how the rules turn out.

Agreed, quite spew-worthy... wings can be okay, but not like this... should be more archaic, weathered, worn... the stances of most of the characters make them look like statues. LeMartes is improved... meh. Hmmm, underwhelmed... they could have done a lot better.

I love them, but i do understand the remark about being older in appearence though. Would be good to see the one booster jump pack with some older looking wings for reference. I was thinking of the fantasy carrion wings without the necrosis........

Wow. I personally think they have done a great job putting these models together. Very much in character with a chapter that considers themselves the creme de la creme yet hiding their dark secret. The fluff talks about their wargear being extremely ornate and overdone to fit in with their Michaelangelic/DaVinci-esque styling.
Anyways, each to their own. I have my hat off to GW for these guys, definitely a good job to me.

i think everything apart from the Sanguinor is exceptional. He is just a little to static for an avenging angel for me.
Really loving astorath, just can't seem to fit him into my trial lists.
Sanguine guard are amazing, will be picking up a couple of boxes just for the bits and pieces.
DC are a great kit. Would prefer less crosses on stuff to just represent normal BAs, but I can handle it. They won't be hard to remove.

Yep, the Sanguinary Guard is what all Marines should look like.
Ornate, crazily off their tits over the top fanatics.
I'll have to pick up a box as victims for my Eldar.....

yep i think the new models look fantastic and am stoked that the 2 new kits are both plastic so much easier for converting.
Cant decide wether to convert the DC or SG as sterngaurd leaning towards SG as the wrist mounted bolters would be sweet

It's the duality of the chapter. Angelic and honourable yet with a dark and dangerous secret. One minute they're playing a violin and talking in harmonic and beautiful voices about art ... the next minute they're tearing your freakin' throat out with their bear teeth.
Sort of brings to mind Joker from Full Metal Jacket with "Born to Kill" written on his helmet and a peace symbol pinned to his jacket.
The DC models, the sabguinary guard and Astaroth are freakin' AMAZING! The sanguinor is also great, but as mentioned is a little too static for my liking.
I'm not too sure about the new Baal's - but still still, being a flamer and melta fanboi the idea of chucking a flamestorm cannon on my Baal is very exciting indeed

That's all explained by the fluff though. Death company have always been black and the hnoour guard types within BA have had gold armour like the characters are supposed to (like the old Tycho model for eg). So I'm not seeing a problem really.
BA have always been pretty boys, so all this ornate stuff and fancy looking items seems to gel with established fluff.
I really like the SG and have laready hatched plans to get some to convert into Honour guard. I'm sure I can find someone who wants the wings

A lot of people have mentioned that they find the sanguinor model too static. Im fairly certain that this was a conscious decision in reference to the renaissance aesthetics(particularly the 'timelessness' quality) that the blood angels allude to very strongly.

I never thought of that. Good point. I must say though, that I do like the angelic qualities he exudes. He is an absolute contradiction to Astaroth and makes me want to field the two in a 'yin and yang' style army with honour vs. rage sort of thing going.

have their been any rumors of a blood angels upgrade sprue like the Black Templars one????
Has anyone heard anything bout the Flesh Tearers just releasing the Chapter Master Mini is a bit odd maybe theres rules in the BA Codex??? or ShoulderPads on one of the plastic sprues

The Death Co box is a upgrade box in the same vein as the grey hunter box.
The Flesh Tearers Chapter Master is in the BA book. They use the rules in the book. There's a blister of metal shoulderpads for them.

Yep - about 2/3 of the DC sprue is functionally "generic blood angels", and the rest wont be hard to convert.
The SG and Baal sprues also have a few bits you could use as generic decoration as well.

Just paint the death company in normal BA colours.
Magic!
or dilute the concentration of death company by mixing in a few plain marines.... or what cypher said.
