Thanks for organising and running this - was a great event. Looking forward to more like it.

That was a really good relaxed and fun tourney.

Thanks a heap to everyone, especially David for a really hard fought last game...one more damn Plaguebearer and I'd have equalled Adam for second.

It was good to try out Cities of Death and Planetstrike...

...apologies to any Demon victims in Planetstrike...

...it would be good to crack into the new Battle Missions in future.
The differing missions really mixed things up nicely.

It was great to hand out the vouchers for people attending their first event. A big thanks to the veterans who helped introduce these guys to the scene, some of who had only played 4 or 5 games before turning up.

Look forward to doing it again next year biggrin.gif

edit:

Yes the Daemon armies were a little nastier than first thought.
Chevynova
Very enjoyable weekend of gaming.

Does anyone have any idea how to handle demons in planetstrike missions when they're attacking? Either with the current rules and stratagems or changes to help even the field a little (I think we can all agree they're over the top in the attacker role).

One fix I can see is to make them deploy the same as any attacker - all in reserve and coming down on a 3+, 4+ all on. This will even them up in deployment terms at least for all armies.

Main stratagem to take would have to be the krak grenade trap - are there any others that people find successful?
YogoZuno
I tried out a pair of Mystics, but sadly, the squads intended to shoot the arriving demons died in the firestorm. Not to mention that we actually did deployment wrong the first time around, then had to reset a little bit, to allow his squads to hit the table.

The results from Battlefield have been added to the 40K Tournament Rankings and RankingsHQ.

No excuse not to attend another Reaper, plus its a good incentive to get those Wolves finished. There are plenty of events on the horizon, Triparil, the Big Weekend, Quarter Master 2, Bundy Hammer and Gencon. I head a rumour that BIG might be putting on an event in July as well, but we will have to wait and see how that goes smile.gif
