Men,

Having just received my new shinny copy of the rule book I was lost for words as I felt this beautifully finished product.

No expense or time has been spared on this epic volume of Warhammer Ancient Battles V2 goodness. The pictures of painted armies are just awe-inspiring the clarity in how the book is set out is a testament to the time taken to get the thing finally published.

I finally calmed down and caught my breath and settled down with a glass of single malt to take in this epic work that I have been wanting ten years for.

Gentlemen I was not disappointed. The rule changes are not major just refinement from the years of gaming that has taken place between editions. The changes have not been made to make you buy more miniatures or to change your current armies but have been made to refine the gaming experience.

This rule set is for men that want to play a game of toy soldiers not a game of toyhammer. It is still the game we loved all those years ago. But it now has a really good boob job. Looks fantastic and you forget about the old ones and just want to play with the new ones!

It’s what I have been wanting all these years now all I have to do is find more players.

So I encourage every one who liked the old rules to get the new ones.

I’m not sure how many other people out there got the rules here in Aus but ask any questions and I will answer them as I can.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, Fury.
I also think that the changes that I have seen so far seem good. The only way to tell will be actually having a game sometime. I'll probably look at updating to the new rules soon. In the meantime would you be able to tell me about the army lists contained in the book? I am particulalrly interested in the 'Saracen' list. Which era is it for exactly and how does it look for balance, fairness etc?

Jared,

The only full army lists that are inclued in the rules is Roman (revised from the 1.5 ed) and Barbarian list (again revised from the last ed 1.5). Both lists are fairly basic but its all you need. There are some sample army list in the back of the book from these you coud build another list.

New Kingdom Egyptian
Hittite Empire
Rise of Macedon (alexander the great)
End of Persia (alexander the great)
Danish Viking
Anglo-Saxon
Christendom First Crusade
Turkish

But all the supplements are still current so you don't have to wait for new ones. You might have to adjust some rules here and there. There will be an errata very soon.

This is the best resourse out there.
