hey big fella
(8th edition isn't that bad is it?)Firstly I'd suggest you jump over to
Ausbowl, which is like the wargamerau for aussie BB'ers were you'll find more like minded people to talk with and discuss things.
talkbloodbowlfantasyfootball is an international site of the same genre but with a much higher traffic again.
League wise the
Sydney league (SLOBB) has just got started their next season but they also run an open league you can jump in - they play anywhere, mostly by arrangement at peoples houses.
SCIBBL is run out of GW battle bunker in the CBD (meaning GW only models) - they seem to be slightly younger (high school) but they play much more regularly. There is also a blue mountains league but I'm guessing your not that far out...
Tactics wise you an look on those forums for advice while
BBtactics is very good for articles as is
Bloodbowl Playbook, although it hasn't been updated in a few years and and pertains to 4th ed rules, so will have slight irregularites with the current edition and links to the defunct Specialist games site
