SURPRISE!

Fight club is going to have it's very own "Prince of the Universe" round, Sunday 25th of July at Infinity. Highlander you say? What's that? It's 15points, with a limit on 1 warcaster/warlock, 1 heavy beast/jack, 1 unit (including UA), and 1 solo or light warbeast/warjack. Turns will not be timed, and we will be having 5 rounds as we're going to have a slightly different scoring structure for the competition on the day.

Players will be limited to two lists. The first will be the standard 15points as above. The second must use nothing that isn't in the first list - and is a 10point 'underbid' list! When Facing your opponent, choose your list wisely, for if you win you will get 6 points, Draw for 3, and lose for ZERO - while your opponent will get the reverse unless they are also fielding a 10point list (that's right, if you get beaten using 15pts by an underbid list, you get 0!). If both players are fielding 10point lists, the winner gets 6pts, both get 3pt for a draw, and the losing player will score 0. If both are fielding 15pts, scores will be 5 for win, 3 for draw, and 1 for loss.

So, to sum up - if you think you've got the GUTS, if you've got the RIGHT STUFF to go for GLORY, then STEP UP PUNK, I wanna see some NO HOLDS BARRED page 5 action with CAPITALS ON RANDOM WORDS FOR EMPHASIS! As always, this will be a FREE TOURNAMENT, because I'm just THAT DAMN AWESOME, and there'll be SOME SORT of TROPHY for THE WINNER.

I'm happy to organise for this to happen inside of AVCon if desired by those turning up to it.. (and probably some prize support) altho, you would have to buy a ticket to AVCon to get in so that might turn some of you off.

This is a GREAT idea guys, I'd love to see everyone get on board with the idea - it'll be a great atmosphere, great exposure, and gives us a good excuse to get some coins or something for prize support! Let's take Mitch up on this fantastic idea and offer of his, and rock out at AVcon!!!

I'm fine with it being there... I had been hoping to get to AVCon for the first time after missing it every other year, but will probably only be able to spare one day off thesis writing. Will it be a full day event?

Well, 15points, three rounds - I don't expect it to take more than 3 to 3 1/2 hours at most, and I can't imagine why it'd take THAT long. It should be fast, brutal, and fun to watch and fight.

Well, I'm not hearing any 'no I can't make it' stuff, and I've mailed pretty much everyone about it, so I think unless we get a dramatic sudden post in the next day or so we'll go ahead with this idea. Can't leave it too long to organise!

Well on that resounding note of support I think we'll leave it for this year and stay at Infinity. Thankyou for the incredibly awesome offer Mitch, I think maybe if we schedule something seperate and bigger next year it might be an idea, but for this year we'll have to pass

Np Russ, it was a fairly quiet day with but four of us, so we were done by 1330, and I got to see Catgirls and hear the tetris theme on bagpipes.

Grats to Heath for once more proving Vlad really DOES have inside him Blood of Kings, and thanks to Leigh and Sam for turning up, and the latter lending me some trolls.
