Full Version: Clockwork Nurgle?
WargamerAU Forums > Wargaming Clubs Australia and NZ > NSW > Orange Modelling & Wargaming Society
Reunion-Round
So being inspired by Kim Starky's necrons, If I can find a heap of gogs and gears I'm going do up my next army as a clock work nurgle daemons, and will add other Gods as I go, already have a keeper (maybe 2 lined up).

Using ghouls as the basis, maybe a gearwork sword on a prince or something. So I need ideas on Daemonic clock work. Magical clockwork etc.

I'm thinking for epi have a staff with one of those spears on the end that had multiple segments that look like they spin around eachother. Clock work Wings for princes and possibly some sort of gross cog arrangment for nurglings.

steampunk is another idea ill venture into a little if I run short of ideas...

Bit of Fluffbrain storming.

Tainted Mechanicus cult worked out how to fabricate daemons.

Cult denounced by the imperium went into hiding.

Hunted by the Ordo Malleus - OBJECTIVES! Maybe...

Bit of model and list brain storming.

Epi and Herald will be some sort of Nurglified tech priest or the like.
FW Herald for Epi
Or these guys for both. Renegade preachers

May get plauge ogryn for beasts.

May consider getting the Plauge Hulk for a soul grinder at some stage. This leaves room for awesome clockwork conversions on the legs and chassis.

All three princes will be well looked at when the new plastic kit is out for them.

Still 30 points to play with in this list.

Display Ideas
Large Nurgle symbol floating in a pool of something. Taking inspiration from that Khorne Daemons army at 09 Lords on the Mark of Khorne made of foam.

Symbol made from large gears? I just got some larger bike gear cogs and 2 air filters as well as an old exercise bike I need to pull apart.

Here are some of the ones I got today from bike stores... These still need a good cleaning as well.
IPB Image

For extra fluff - a Diary of the tainted tech and his ramblings on how to make daemons? or perhaps a schematic type drawing... though I may need to employ Fergo or Sam to draw that up for me to scan and edit, unless I can find something sketchy in google somewhere to mash together.

So ideas?
Reunion-Round
Just noticed the next wave of daemons comes out in august (no pun intended).

Might see what that offers before buying up some ghouls.

No Nurgle

But Daemons are getting:
- Plastic Horrors
- Seekers
- Plastic Juggarnaught
- Kirois Fateweaver (? on spelling)
- Daemon prince
- Changling
Reunion-Round
hmm... bugger. Well Ghouls it will be then.

New Prince kit may offer something fun though.

While ghouls do look cool, Zombies are easier to use for conversions because of the hip join and neck join plus thet come with heaps of spare parts and are cheaper than ghouls (I think)

Zombies don;t look daemonic enough for me however. I may get a box and kit bash them in with the ghouls however, because they do have some great parts.
Starfire
Plague Zombies (Plague of Unbelief) are plenty Daemonic.

now above.

armata_PDT_33.gif 0/5 for comp
adreal
So it's a basic epi list.......

Jeff, go on warseer, find redrivertears daemonic battle reports for 40K, it can give you hints and stuff for daemons, what works, what doesn't

armata_PDT_33.gif 0/5 for comp

Good for you mr 6 dreads, 40 nobz and 9 wave serpents. After some of the crap you put down I dont care what you think of comp.

@ Brian. Rather give it my own go. Running Nurgle without epi is almost pointless. I might just make him a normal herld to begin with for 105 points anyway.

EDIT: I will probably venture off pure nurgle later on anyway, as i'm already getting at least one keeper and maybe a second and already own 3 flamers.

whoopdee doo. I run cheesy army's armata_PDT_37.gif

I dont think anyone has ever noticed that before ohmy.gif

Sounds to me like someone doesn't like to be told their army has a low comp score!

then why post the list?

then why post the list?

Because this is the draft for a modelling log. And I always have a base list in my logs. If you notice, I never asked for comp nor did I post it in the 40k boards...

If your so against it just don't read it.
Good ol Shakey
Jeff, he gave you a comp score, and you bite at him... Was it really needed? Sam just said how he felt, which you do quite a bit. If you didn't like what was said, ignore it...
