One last prime time PR bump - this guys deserve it
I just discovered this minis over the weekend. I had no idea that they even existed. My first reaction was, these are weird, but then I thought that they would make a great (unique) Imperial Guard army.
After I searched the WAU website, I came across this small thread, which I am reviving, as I want to know what happened to damianlz's Quar IG army? Any pics? Any Progress? I would love to know.

hey mate, actually yes, the guys are put together ready to be primed. i will be making a modeling diary over the next two months as I startr to make an imperial guard army with them. The books are AMAZING in detail and background and just quality.
Anyone in the Sydney area is welcome to meet up if you want to check the figures out. There are two scaled, 15mm and 28mm. I am focusing on the latter for now.
I will be posting more in depth reviews and insights into the models over the next two weeks so if you have ANY questions, please feel free to PM me because id love to answer them!
I am so tempted to buy some 28mm figs. I love the ww1 technology.
I am looking forward to your modelling diary.
Thanks for sharing.

That's a really detailed back story they have with the Quars. Out of interest - is the game system any good?
I'm such a sucker for alien figures!

Well thats the thing - YEs they are! theres two which I will explain quickly
"This Quars War" - Is built for using masses of figures and is one of the oddest and smoothest games I have ever played. There are only two factions in the game universe and their weapons, units and structure are all plainly spelled out.
I will admit this game took me afew days to understand, but once I realised what was being said I kicked myself. The game uses a deck of cards for activations. Just say you and your opponent have 5 units each, 10 cards are shuffled and randomly sorted and thats the games activation. Shooting is done by diceloads but is dont so VERY quickly which I found great. All you need to know is 6 are hits. The only thing that counters that are 'condition shifts' caused by cover (this means that if a unit is in cover and you shoot at them - every 6 that shows up on a dice is a dead Quar, any 1 cancels out a 6)
You can download This quars war from www.zombiesmith.com - in the forum section. It doesnt have the amazing art and background story which believe me you want. But it will explain the game better than I do.
"Songs of our ancestors" is the other game in this universe, it is standalone and plays with 3-15 figures rather than entire armies. It is based of a VERY quick system which is mostly scenario run. It differs alot from this Quars war but is brilliant in its own right.

I have just downloaded the free rulebook, and I look forward to finding some "alone" time to read it.
