Ok So I need to work out what to take to AncientOne's Tournament. 600 points of fleet created using option 3 of the Fleet Composition PDF.

Here is what I'm looking at right now.

1 Intruder Battleship (Squadron 1)

1 Tormentor Heavy Cruiser and 2 Stalker Cruisers (Squadron 2)

1 Ripper Submarine (Squadron 3)

4 Lurker Frigates (Squadron 4)

4 Lurker Frigates (Squadron 5)

Comes in at exactly 600 points, not sure if its optimal but looks pretty balanced to my newb eyes.

The Submarine is more for the threat value and as insurance to maximise my hand each turn.

Looks great, I'd ram an Orc into that.

I know nothing but I can stand next to you and shout "pewpewpwewpew!" every time you shoot and "KAAA-BOOOOOM!" when your opponent rolls on the crit table if you'd like?

Can anyone tell me if I can take a battleship and a flagship (humans) at 600 pts. I can't see a rule that says otherwise but some have told me no.

I've always found the fleet composition in Uncharted Seas to be a little bit confusing, but I think the answer to your question is indeed no, you can't have both a battleship and a flagship at 600 points. The reason (I think) is that the Flagship is identified as a 'Class 1 BS Special', which means it counts towards your Class 1 Special limit (1 per 600 points) and your Battleship limit (1 per 400 points).

If you were playing an 800 point battle, however, I think you could take both.

I think.

When is the new book out?

I can't be buggered sifting through their website.

Yeah, that's understandable. It's probably my one complaint about the game -- for so long, you've had to hunt all over their website for information. Hopefully the 2nd edition rulebook will put an end to this for good.

As for release dates, The Warstore said that they received it on September 21st and have been shipping it out. So I guess that means, modulo international mail, it's available now. I haven't asked any of our local suppliers for a copy yet, though.

Jim? Jim!

The above list has been revised to the following so I can fit more new toys in:

1 Intruder Battleship (Sq. 1)

1 Tormentor Heavy Cruiser, 2 Stalker Cruisers (Sq. 2)

1 Ripper Submarine (Sq. 3)

4 Lurker Frigates (Sq. 4)

2 Adept Destroyers, 1 Lurker Frigate (Sq. 5)

Bang on 600 points. ( I might split the Destroyers across two of the Frigate Squadrons).

Also, Minion has it correct. Flagships count as both a Battleship and a Special, so for 600points you cannot get both the Flaggy and an extra Battleship in there.

That looks great, Mark, now if you could park them all close together I'll ram some Orcs into them for you.

I quite appreciate the Uncharted Seas rules development being done online, always enjoyed a beta.

If I weren't learning Warmachine and the new Malifaux book at the moment I'd be all over it.

Will have to hit up Phoenix Forge and see when he's getting it in.

I already have mine from Luke. That's because he is awesome! The book is purty, got lots of new illustrations and photo's to go with the new rules <3
