I admit it, I'm a hopeless Imperial fanboy

I'm also apparently having trouble sticking to a single project at the moment and I've got quite a few armies I want to try and paint and this will be the log that charts my progress!

So, for now I have three armies that I'm planning on putting together for this log.

First up will be a force of Grey Knights

Later on will be a space wolf force (although they won't actually be space wolves)

And finally an apocalypse sized force of Imperial Guard (with a suitably rediculous number of tanks armata_PDT_01.gif )

So, first up will be the Grey Knights

I've been trying a few new techniques for these guys, mainly large use of airbrushing. The armour and the force weapons are all done with an airbrush, and then the armour is edge highlighted.

So, here's the image that I'm basing my Grey Knights on. Its an old colour scheme from white dwarf when they were running their index astartes series. I love the scheme and think it should be something a little different to most of the other Grey Knight armies out there while still (vaguely) in line with fluff.

And here is my Grand Master. I'll probably end up converting up a second one but he'll do for now

IPB Image

And some terminators

And the Grand Master with the terminators

More to come in a moment...

And more WIP PA knights

And finally, the dreadknight

Unfortunetly these guys will probably need to wait a few weeks as my admech are demanding some love to get them ready for ][con

I'll try and get some WIP shots of the other forces as well!

Cheers mate! I must admit I do like the old sheme and I have a sick need to have my stuff a little different to everyone else, although without straying from the fluff! I think this scheme is a nice middle ground!

Yeah, I think you're right on that one. The flat barrels do look out of place. So, off to find a drill...

Ah dammit! I thought I had an original idea when I remembered this scheme *grumble* wink.gif

They look amazing mate, the power weapons in particular are very striking, the turquoise is a great accent colour to the black and metallics.

I look forward to seeing some more smile.gif

I think Gee Dub would sell more grey knights if they used your models to promote them instead of that silver scheme they have going on...

These are amazing. Love the work on the blades of their force weapons, that's really impressive.

Sorry there sheep! Glad you like them though!

Thanks for all the great comments guys and glad to see the colour scheme is getting the thumbs up!!

Credit has to go to the damned Artificer over on warseer who did a great tutorial for the power weapons. Although he did his for silver grey knights I think it works great with the dark scheme as well. I'll try and throw a tutorial of my own up when I spray up the next batch

These are looking sweet mate, I'm currently working on a few new bits for mine, so I might be reviving the thread I had running for them. I used the same scheme - hated the silver look, and the black just looks so much cooler!

This should be a link to it...?
Link!

I've got a whole mess of the old metals to work on. I'd definitely be interested in a tutorial on the force weapons if you get the chance, they look awesome... might have to steal that look if I can master it! biggrin.gif

Those are some very cool looking grey knights HandsofIron! It's great to see more grey knights that are actually grey! I particularly love the banners, they look fantastic!

I'll definitely try and do the tutorial on the force weapons when I get around to spraying the next batch of knights, probably in a couple of weeks time
