Hirst Arts' Cavern Accessories on the bases and shaded with Army Painter's Soft Tone.

Sonnia Crrid alternate sculpt and Witchling Stalkers then Avatar.

Rest of them are the Miners & Steamfitter's Union Assets box with Kaeris levitating about.

Yeah I'm happy with the photo but there is a lot more yellow in the grooves.

The camera makes the red bleed and obscure it a bit.
Almost completely lost the yellow on the Gamin.

Pretty hard to go wrong with such a dynamic model.

The Soulstone Miner's twisty shape makes it look a little like its moving as you walk past, doesn't come out in the photos.

Lovely work. Like the new Sonia sculpt and surprising to see her with blonde hair, but it works well. Makes her look a little less evil.

pha-pharking-nomonal mate. Seriously, love the basing, the colour coordination and that dragon breath - holy makeral

Unfortuntly the deafening roar of Ork artillery will deafen a Grot into using a rudimentary form of sign language. Unfortunantly this does not fare well - as there are only so many signs a Grot can carry around with him...

Sonnia and her avatar are my favourites, they look fantastic.
I really like how you've gone for softer, lighter tones then the darker colours most Malifaux crews seem to be painted with. Looks very cool armata_PDT_34.gif

Wow!

Are you planning on brining these to AUSCON?

That little package at the bottom is one of the boxes I carry my painted crews around in ready for demo games.

Got these ready to go to AUSCON:

- Collete's Showgirls
- Viktorias & Ronin
- Von Schill's Freikorps
...and now Criid & Kaeris

If you're infecting people with the Malifuxes in Brisbane you're welcome to borrow them.
LDP, Rathnard and I have been talking about doing demo sessions for a while now.

We can most likely ask nicely and get some of Blind Pig's beautiful Western terrain as well.

>I really like how you've gone for softer, lighter tones then the darker

Yeah, slim miniatures really want a white primer, I ended up stripping the black undercoated Malifaux I started with.
Then washes do everything for you. Kind of painting upside-down.

Glad you like it, I almost put a coloured lining inside the cloaks but I'm glad I didn't now.
Wanted to see how just smoothing the whites underneath effected where the varnish sticks.
The Arcane Tempest Gun Mages cloaks in my link are the exact same thing with a wash of Asurmen blue.
Probably going to do the inside lining different for Ceilingcat's Guild.
Might even mention that to him before I do it smile.gif

>surprising to see her with blonde hair

Couldn't go orange with Blazing Orange being the mid-tone in the flames.
The Sunburst Yellow (the GW one) almost looked green next to the other colours, I'm glad I used iton her hair. Contrasts a bit.
Doesn't come out in the photos but there is a lot more yellow inner glow to the flames using a more reddish-cream P3 yellow.

Pretty happy with how easy the flame effects were to do, going to be setting a lot more things on fire in future.
The Wyrd flame effects could go on those spare boxes, etc. Make them dynamite objectives.
Next step is to try out source lighting.

Also, those boxes are about $30 from Hirst Arts and it comes from a mould so you can make as many as you can be bothered with.

Ceilingcat's Guild doing a quickie with an all red colour scheme.

Once the new Vallejo gold Pink Elephants are okay'ed there'll be two units and some Cyclopses to follow.

...aaaaand then Raspy's crazy cat lady list if I don't get distracted by Flames of War tank companies.

Looks great Sam, really well done and VERY dynamic (though I wouldnt expect anything less from you)

Question though, is Criid the avatar a solid piece?? Because I would dearly love to carve her out and make a conversion based off that model biggrin.gif..... And Rasputias avatar too come to think of it....

Keep it up man. Maybe you could post a few pics from each crew in order they were painted so we can see how youve come as a painter and malifaux fanboi smile.gif

Cheers dude, Ronin

You do sound a smidge obsequious occasionally, you know that? smile.gif

The salamander is two resin parts you can see the join to the neck where I didn't match it up quite right.

The head, horns and Criid herself are all metal parts.

I was tempted to use the bottom as a base ... Would make them look like they have a flatulence problem, sadly.

Will have these and three other crews at the club, new packing policy makes it really easy to cart about.

Really nice look on colour choices. I especially like the Witchlings.

One thing you might like to consider is adding a bit of depth to the blonde hair. I use a very very thin wash of a green colour (something like Vallejo Camoflage Green), then a very very fine dry brush of Bleached Bone.

Here is an example on my Cassandra:

Oh cool, hadn't thought of bleached bone but its much more realistic blonde.

This was an experiment on what the dip would do by itself.

Avatar Criid definitely needs something to break up that solid block of yellow.
