My new army project is a undead orcs and goblin army. The aim is to build a two for one army that can be used as either a vampire counts or orcs and goblins.

I contributed alot to the Titan Forge indiegogo campaign for their Drakskull Menace range, which will be most of the army (the models are here: http://www.indiegogo.com/drakskullsmenace?...me&a=660437) and I am going to convert the rest of the army.

I have started some of the conversions while I wait for the indiegogo models to be finished. Here are the first of my savage orcs/ghouls.

I'm struggling to understand the relevance of WA mining profits to a discussion about the masters for a toy soldiers game, but thanks for your input.

what are you going to use the orcs for in an undead army? all the undead troops are on 20mm bases arent they?

That is true, but orks are on a 25 mm base anyway so I reckon you can get away with either cramming three orcs on two bases or just making it count as since 16 orcs has the same profile as a block of 25 skeletons.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing re:bases

BUT good luck, in more ways than one. I can't remember the countless times I've wanted to do O&G projects and am always deterred by the model count to paint. So I'm doing WE's - Low model count smile.gif

Good luck, sure you'll make this work a treat.

BTW I have a gazillion O&G things if you need spares, parts, box sets etc - lemme know if you want to go shopping in my house.

This project has a lot of promise. Will be keen to see where it goes from here.

Cheers smile.gif

There is a difference between offloading and shopping, but if you want to browse by all means. If you want a game too - before CA let me know.

Let me to share my solution to the problem of using the same model on both a 20mm and 25mm base. It is put them on a 20mm base and then if I need a 25mm base, slip the 20mm base into a 25mm inverted base I got from back to basics.

For example:

Ghoul on a 20mm base

Savage orc on a 25mm base

^ THAT is genius. Magnetise them and they'd be rock solid.

Much better solution than the original idea. Very elegant. Great idea.

Why iz you so brilliant?

Good solution - now hurry up and build/construct and paint the army so I can play and beat you with my new army.

Glad to see this started!

Though you should be painting Malifaux, I can't wait till the indiegogo models get through.

Actually the problem is more to do with the models ranking up together if you are going to put them on 20mm bases.

Not sure if that will be too much of a problem since they only have one attached arm each so should make it easier to rank up. But I might be wrong though.

Liking the work so far.

Looks promising Roy! Will the savage orcs rank up comfortable when on 20mm bases? That Website for the undead greenskins looks great, I imagine the figures will be quite popular and we may see many others go down the same path as you.

It's going to be quite an effort to paint up enough models to fulfil both armies though, so I wish you luck! Which army do you want to get on the table first?

Exactly Staks - no-one rates you, but that STILL makes you Australia's #1 Over-rated player. Thats how craptastic your Warhammer skills really are!

I hadn't really thought about whether the savage orcs can rank up on 20mm bases. I am hoping that by cutting off one arm they will fit. I will put some on 20mm bases to test it out.

I am aiming to finish the vc army first before I start on all the o&g war machines.

Here is my first mangler sqiug. I might try to copy the gw version and have another mangler standing on top of it.

One question: Do you think I should remove the spikes off the spine?

No, don't remove them. Also don't think you need them piggybacking, looks good on its own.

On a side note, what model(s) have you used/cut up for that?

+1 keep the spikes and just as is. No piggy back.

What will it count as in the undead list?
