Preliminary players pack:HERE

Sunday BlitzKreig Sunday - a one day, fast paced, 500pt Bolt Action Tournament.

Everything about this tournament is fast. A standard tournament is 1000pts played in two hours, so let’s halve the size and speed it up!

You'll play 4 one hour games on 4'x4' tables

You'll play scenarios as defender and attacker, straight from the book and a unique scenario for the day (stay tuned for this).

Prizes for Overall Champion, best Axis/Allied/Painted/National Champion, Jammed Gun (the military version of the wooden spoon), most turns played, and a few purple hearts for other incidental awards.

The format for the day:

8:30 registration and game 1 assignment

09:00 - 10:00 Game 1

Admin (Report results - Get new opponent/table – and a drink)

10:30 - 11:30 Game 2

Admin

Lunch

12:30 - 13:30 Game 3

Admin

14:00 - 15:00 Game 4

Admin

15:30 Awards

16:00 Pack up - bump out

The 1 hour turn for a 500pt list is in line with the game designers expectations of play time, and I will be offering a prize for the most turns played. I do have a reporting/scoring format in mind for this and it will be calculated separately to victory scoring. Victory scoring is to be scenario based to allow for definitive wins, and attrition as the count back for tiebreakers. However, if you don't reach your objectives you can't score victory points. So fast turns are as important as fast vehicles.

Knowing the rules speeds up play as it removes play delay due to look up time. This is true for the general rules and for your Army's special rules. Along-side that is the old favourite: During the days play the Tournament Organisers decisions regarding the interpretation of the rules is final. Accept it, and get back to playing.

This translates to Bolt Action as: play with the models you are most familiar with, so you don't have to look up the rules, request TO interpretation, or constantly explain the special rules to your opponent. And, reign in the amount of figures and order dice you take so that you can play faster. You don't have to of course, but it seems like a useful approach to faster games

Cheers,

Gregory

The obvious one would, of course, be: Young Gun armata_PDT_36.gif

Yeah I went with Young Gun when I first typed it... then Young Guard... then Young Partisan... I guess what's important is giving an encouragement prize to someone who has some combination of; 'under 18', 'new to the hobby' and/or 'forced to pull order dice out of the cup by Lawrence' tongue.gif

Nothing 'forced' there mate. Greenhorn is better. tongue.gif

Will email my list through Wednesday after I send through my money.
Do you want a pdf from AB, or the attached AB file? Both are easy enough.

Commandos are getting more paint for this:

Regarding the AB file: 6 of one, half a dozen of the other mate. So long as it happens and I can check it, all is well.

Commandos are looking good BTW. :-)

Looking forward to seeing them in action.

Cheers,
Gregory

OK folks, I am officially upping the ante. I am adding a pre-registration bonus for lists sent in on or before 19th October 2013. It is a one list 500 point tournament, so it ought to be a snap!

Currently, if you pre-register and pre-pay on or before 19th October 2013 you're in the draw for some 4Ground terrain.

In addition, if you pre-register your 500 point force on or before 19th October 2013, and you pay, you will go in the draw for another piece of 4Ground terrain.

To be fair and to share the loot around, you can only win one of these two pre-event prizes. Prizes will not be mailed out, they must be collected at the tournament.

Also on the day, there will be a prize up for grabs for those who play with a fully painted army as well as the best painted Army prize.

Good luck, and see you there,
Gregory

Feck! Now I really have to finish the Commandos off! My list is finalised, being Commandos it's small and Elite, but should be a lot of fun.
