Hey all,

I dont have enough time to dedicate to hobby for a proper diary of my works. So this is where I will throw the odds and ends as I finish them.

To start with, something that soaked up well over a month of my time in dribs and drabs: my SAGA warlords and hearthguard for my Vikings and Anglo Danes/Saxons (as if you would use hearthguard with Saxons)

IPB Image
Anglo Saxon/Viking warlord with spearmen and daneaxemen.

IPB Image
Anglo Danish warlord with mostly sword and axemen

IPB Image
Group shot. 42 men ready to shed blood at a moments notice. 42 is a cosmically awesome number so cant complain even though its SO many more hearthguard than ill ever need.

Next up is the Epic objective markers I only just finished. Need to space these out a bit or itll be all tumbleweeds here. Comments and crits welcome.

Cheers, Ronin

Good job.
Shields look amazing, is that free hand or do they come with patterns?

Thanks alot. Honestly I shouldnt have even posted these up since I havnt blended the shields yet.

No way are they freehand, littlebigmen studios came to the rescue for me. Pro tip for using them: paint the shield white like they suggest. The transfers are very see through and you cant see them over darker colours.

Cheers again guys, ill post up more works soon, Ronin

Been a while since I updated. Ive been bouncing between projects and havnt gotten much finished. But I have finally been given the impetuous needed to finalize something. Going to Heavy Bolter in july so I now have a dedicated need to finish an epic tank legion.

Heres a Salamander formation:

IPB Image

All they need now is some rust effects and maybe some dirt.

The black turret represents the commissar and is something that will be carried over for the rest of the army. The commissar is actually a chaos priest as my epic guard is the 6mm version of my 40k traitor guard army, not that it matters or anyone cares.

1st leman russ coy is 90% done too. Just need to give them a matting spray, rust effects and some kinda pennants for the tank commander character.

Stay tuned.

Half of said Russ coy:

Theyve been matt sprayed, but im gonna leave the other weathering till later so the whole army is done for the tournament.

So heres where im at:

IPB Image

Theres 2 fully completed (sans bases) armoured companies with the salamander detachment. Also in the shot are my finished chaos skitarii, first epic models I did, with a shadowsword company about a third done and some basecoated basilisks. The skitarii stand in for stormtroopers.

Sadly, thats most of what has paint on it. Gonna have to put a couple more warhounds together and get them yellow, along with a pile of manticores and hydras I hopefully have on the way.

Cheers, Ronin

Updates to the epic journey:

I apologize for the god awful over exposed photos. And as before, the weathering, basing and effects will come once the whole army is done to a good standard and not before. Hence they look boring now but will have chaos stars painted all over them soon, with rust.

Thunderbolts:

IPB Image

They do have metallic metal in there as well, but my photography fails utterly.

Shadowsword:

IPB Image

And one of 2 warhounds for the army:

IPB Image

The titan legio owns all the super heavies as part of its cataphractii support hence the shadowsword matching the titan. This guys sister titan 'Herald of the Pox' is being painted and converted at the same time, pictures to come soon I hope.

Cheers, Ronin

Cheers man.

I have finished the heavy bolter army to a tabletop standard, now I can start weathering properly and get some smoke plumes for the titan with the smoke stacks.

IPB Image

Hopefully have some finished pics up before this time next weekend.

Cheers, Ronin

Break from minis lately, but not from painting.

IPB Image

Hopefully get back into the mans again soon, almost finished my SAGA warriors so might be able to get them up in the next month or so (if I can get away from total war that long)

Cheers, Ronin

Thoughts always appreciated.

Nice bike mate, what model is it? I'm well out of the loop with bikes now. My first big bike was a Kawasaki GPZ550.

Keep the kids away from the exhaust when its hot. (God, I sound like my father- 'the prophet of doom' as my mum calls him).

Its an ER5. Was easier to tell when it was written down the side but the stickers were the first part to go. Just got the HT leads fixed so she runs better than ever (helps that the lead on the right hand cylinder doesnt just wriggle up and off the spark plug now)

And dont worry, the kids are very restricted in access to the garage so they shouldnt be able to get at it. And jesus, just checked out what a gpz550 is all about, thats a bloody fast bike. Bit worried you were rocking an 80s bike though, your not that much older than me.

The day after I took that photo I high sided the bike coming off some gravel. Wound up bogging another dent and doing bulk paint repairs. Such is the way of things I guess.

Cheers, Ronin

Coming off is all part of riding a bike, you just need to get back on very quickly in case your bottle goes.

I got the GPZ because I knew I would come off and didn't want to spend $$$ on ruining a really nice bike. I ungraded to a naked Susuki Bandit 1000 then a semi-faired Yamaha Fazor 1000 (which was sooo nice, 155mph nice)

I always like the 'naked bikes' but it get a bit blowy when you get up to 100kph. Even a small windshield helps and keeps the look.

(this is a bit expensive, just an example)
