Well I said i should be base coating my troops. Have done some terminators, washed and based to see what they will look like. need to detail and then add some blood etc.
They all have molded world eater shoulder pads, plus other Khorne symbols. I waiting for some brass etching from FW to add some more symbols. Hard to mold the small ones without losing detail.

Here are some chosen, Need to add lots of khorne stuff, maybe a khorne tatoo to each head would be good.

IPB Image

Next I need to base coat my 10 man squad and 8 man squad of raptors.

Well my DP turned up. Nice model but It wasn't what I wanted so out with the dremmel and hacksaw. Changed arm that had the hand thingy and add a wing. Wanted it to be slashing out from its body so slight mod to arm fixed that. Changed pose by twisting 45 degrees and making more upright. Also reposition neck by cutting and twisting. Changed horn to a more demon type position (I think so!). Customised World eater shoulder pad. I will be adding khorne icons but they haven't turned up yet from forge world.

Overall I think its a nice HQ that fits with the armies close combat , frenetic theme.

Hey but I'm supposed to be painting my troops ....

Nice work on the painting so far. Is that termi in the front row, second from the left, finished, or at least, close to being finished? It looks great. armata_PDT_34.gif

Can't really make out the detail on the DP shoulder pad, so I can't comment on that, but the pose looks alright.

Demon prince has had some khorne brass etching applied. These are really good and I would recommend them to add the little bit extra.

Its quite hard to bend brass around shoulder pad but I will fare up with some GS. Next job is painting....

That looks quite good Bruce, The Brass Etch is really nice stuff.

Love the way the Prince is turning out, would be good to see him painted.

Do FW do a Nurgle sheet yet?, if so I might just have to get me some.

Cheers

Well,...

It's been a long time, but I have 'finished' some stuff.

Painting in red and NMM has been a challenge. Red is a ##$### to paint, shade and highlight.

To get the vibrant red I undercoated with white. Yes white. Yes it took forever to completely cover each and every model in red but as this was primarily a painting project it was worth it. I'm pleased with the armies overall look. The defiler needs more work but its getting close to being finished.

I will post some units next and a final pic of the entire army.

Thoughts, well its quite different to my original army. No bloodletters, no flesh hounds, no bikes, no HQ on a steed. I suppose it a reflection of a new codex happening half way through the build. I would like to make a true World Eaters army but without rules for cult terminators and demons its not quite as I would have liked.

Next army, Nurgle....

Bruce.

Thanks Kruger. I was looking forward to having a game like the last one we played.

Thanks everyone else for the good vibes.

Have to agree with some of the previous posts, The red and bone came out great! And I think your nmm has made a rather good contrast!

An army is never finished.

Some small changes to make more khornate in theme.

Drop a unit of troops and add in a unit of berserkers.
Drop a rhino and use the LR to move the new unit of berzerkers.
Add 2 CC arms onto the dreadnought, will make more khornate.

So that should help. I'd really like some lessor demons but will have to wait and see what happens..
