G'day all,

This started as a new army that would play differently to my main army (High elves) for a 500pt tournament. So here is a little bit of fluff for the 500pt army.

Kaza had progressed in the herd from simple breading stock to the position of Bray-Shaman on account of her ability to bend the winds of chaos to her needs. Her position as a spiritual leader amongst the herd came to an abrupt end when Kaza inadvertently summoned a rather annoying little imp (Jean-san).
The little bugger got up to mischief like you wouldn’t believe; he swapped the Centigors Beer with water, he taunted the Minotaurs with your-mamma jokes and he even had a Steve Erwin moment with a Shaggoth. Try as she might she could not send him back and the little fella had a remarkable ability to get out of harms way. His one redeemable quality was that he seemed to have an affinity for scouting. The final straw came when he marked his territory all over Khazrak the one-eye’s resting area.
Fearful of what Punishment the Gods might inflict on him if he harmed the shaman, he sent Kaza along with Jean-san to patrol the northern borders of his territory. With her he sent Brazak and the rest of his Beast herd, as it was their responsibility to monitor Kaza. He also took this as an opportunity to rid himself of the troublesome Centigors and the most stupid of his hounds by sending them with her. Finally he sent Mortua Bloodscythe with instructions to keep a close eye on Kaza and Jean-san and not to return unless Jean-san was no more.

And now the pics:

The first thing painted were some Ungors - The army is going to have a Tzeentch theam

Next was a Tuskagor chariot

Female Shaman (Kaza), A little more dynamic then the current GW shamans. There is an amusing story with this one. I had almost finished it just had the gems to paint, when I went to use a vallejo paint dropper, and nothing came out. So what did I do? I squezzed harder (I should know better, I do have a first class honors in physics but I was tired). The blockage came out, and the result was a fine mist of blue paint all over the walls, my computer monitor, myself and this miniture. It took me about 8 hours to fix the mini and the monitor, and my walls still have paint on them.

The tournanment needed you to have a Johnson for missions

What is currently on the shelf half done are these bad boys (I think the most expensive points to dollar ratio GW product out there)

Well, I think your beasts are your best army. They are extremely well painted, you just need to do more! The shaman is fantastic and the ungors are insane for the number of them you will have to do. Good luck, Rob. Hopefully having these things on the intarweb will push you to do a bit more.

The colour scheme is awesome, and the blood effect on the snow is nice and subtle.

This is a stock standard model. It cost a bit because the only place I could find it was in the US. I am a huge fan of the standard beasts stuff, (i.e. gors, ungors, chariot, hounds, centigors) but some of the character options, (shaman, doombull) are not so great. So you have to shop around. I am working on a confrontation minotaur for my Doombull at the moment I will post a pic up when I have finished putting him together (a couple of days I am waiting on green stuff to dry).

A link to the shaman can be found here

That is a cool blend of colours. Strong, yet not overpowering

thanks for the kind words,

Well I have 'finished' puting the doom bull together. I have a couple of pics that show size comparison and a pic showing 4 ranges of minitures that all mesh together. The yetti is for use when I cast 'bear's anger'. I will get onto painting more of this when I finish my bride and groom space marines.

The Doombull is going to look very brutal with a paintjob. Just keep plugging along as usual. I think your beasts are your best army, so don't rush it too much!

Well this is one overdue update. My time has been sent putting these bad boys together, with an average of 4 pins per model, I spent all in all over 50 hours just putting the barstards together.
IPB Image

I had a few (3) extra predators of Blood and thought the models fit in well with the rest of the army. But I have no idea what would be best to use as the 'counts as' rule for them, minotaurs, ogres or trolls?
IPB Image

Well time for that update. I have finally finished my warhounds. At a points cost to time and effort spent on them equation, put simply I loose. But I am happy with how the turned out. I might have a little too much blood effect on the basses, but it is easy to get carried away.

All the pictures had the same lighting levels, I just played around in paint shop with some of them, trying to get the colour right.

It will be another long wait for more updates, because Arc is just around the corner and I have a lot to model and paint for that.
