Done a bit more, including colour blocking...

Trying for Blue/Yellow quartering, to match the Blue/Yellow of the Snotlings:

IPB Image

Still a couple of layers to brighten both the blue and yellow.

Im not sure how much I like it.

Kind of a retro, second-ed 40k kind of scheme I feel...

Any thoughts?

I think the alternative is to just have the shoulderpads in blue/yellow quartering, and have all the armour plates and wrist guards just in boring metal.

Anyway, I plan to try my hand at a bit of weathering on the blue/yellow stuff, with scuffs and things showing the base metal underneath. Will see how that goes too!

Tried a bit of weathering/damage on the armour, looks ok I think but could be improved. Any suggestions? I think it will 'pop' a bit more when I highlight the edges, but Ive not done damage on armour before so Im not sure exactly what it needs...

The scratches look good, maybe a little orange around the edges to make it look rusted. Maybe dirty up the whole shoulder guard, looks very clean currently. Some blood spatters, dirt, a few more random scratches, looks too uniform currently.

Alright, finally managed to finish the Ogres for WAACYBowl:

IPB Image

IPB Image

Managed to win Best Painted again!

Ended up 8th, with a win, two draws, and a loss. Caused 22 cas, which was 9 more than anyone else. Also took 11 cas as well though, since the bloody Snots are so fragile biggrin.gif

I was one scatter dice away from 4th position - Final turn thrown snotling that managed to land and succeed in two GFIs but ended up 1 out from the end zone - A more favourable scatter (one less back from forward, back, back) would have meant a scraped win and 25 more points!

Thanks to all my opponents, although I dont think many of them read this part of WAU? And of course many thanks to Deez for running the event biggrin.gif

Next up I think Ill probably try and do some more of the Elves.

Mostly Foundations, combined with Vallejo and some Citadels.

Cheers.

I am looking to change from straight Citadel colours. I am slowly buying Vallejo, but have not tried any foundation stuff yet.

Depends if 'Snake Eyes Methuselah Roy' is doing the undercoating or not. He has to count everything several times and then use markers to remind himself of what to do. tongue.gif
Might also depend on wether I'm inspired to paint up the sarcos I got on the weekend first.

Specifically, what colours did you use for the Ogres skin? GW paints or Vellejo?

Definately give them a crack, they are my favourite paints to use smile.gif. Great coverage and more neutral colours.

Certainly they are a different playstyle to the Orcs! But I think your conversions look way better smile.gif

Got some replacement Mummies for the Khemri... These guys are much bigger. It's just a pity no-one really does 4 of the same style guys.

Also, changed scheme from Green to Red, which I think suits better and makes skellies pop from base more.

Here is some WIP

Hey Tyra_Nid,

Nice work. I was just going through this thread a month or so back and only didn't post due to the age. Glad to see you're back into it, as I love to see some BB on here. Never seems to be enough of it though tongue.gif .

Only thing I can think of is your bases don't WOW quite as much as your paint work. Little bit extra in the form of Gridiron Hash marks, etc would really sell the BB pitch idea and make these stand out.

As for the update, nice choice in the mummies. I especially like the 1st and 3rd (from left to right). Been tempted to buy them myself even though I own more then enough Mummies already. :smile.gif

Cheers smile.gif
