Update time! Excuse the poor images, I'm out of practice in miniature photography...

Been doing a lot of BB minis recently due to a club league as well as WAACYbowl coming up again.

I was originally planning on using Elves at WAACYbowl, as I've been slowly working on these for years and am getting close to completion. Here are some finished ones:

IPB Image

However, getting absolutely crushed in the league I've been using them in, has demoralised me to the extent that I need to go back to a bashing team. You need to be able to roll 2+ a lot for elves - blocking has much better odds and I'm a conservative rather than risky player! Nothing worse than that 1-1 for a critical catch or dodge.

In that case, Undead it is. I've been planning to extend my Khemri out so that I can use them as either Khemri or Undead, so now is a good time for that.

I've got 4 Mantic Ghouls to paint up:

IPB Image

And I need to finish off this guy:

IPB Image

Luckily I've finished off my Mummies, so I think I'll use the first two of these:

I'm not very happy with their wrappings, but I think the only way to improve would be to individually highlight each one, and I can't be bothered doing that at the moment. Maybe later.

Not sure, there are two different manufacturers. Willy sounds familiar for one.

Also, team name for Undead...

Only thing I can think of is your bases don't WOW quite as much as your paint work. Little bit extra in the form of Gridiron Hash marks, etc would really sell the BB pitch idea and make these stand out.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Unfortunately I don't like the white line marks, since it doesn't quite match when people move around the pitch. I prefer the simplicity of just the plain green smile.gif

QUOTE(D_Arquebus @ Apr 9 2012, 09:46 AM) *

As for the update, nice choice in the mummies. I especially like the 1st and 3rd (from left to right). Been tempted to buy them myself even though I own more then enough Mummies already.

Funny, I prefer the other two!

Interested to see what you do with the mantic ghouls, and how they look as BB players. I have a box set of them lying about that I am thinking about using as nurgle rotters with some shoulderpads to make a cheapy Nurgle team.

Great results with your painting, but i agree with Hutch that your basing slightly lets you down.

The basing is great, stick with it.

Nice to see this diary back. Can't believe how long ago it was started.

Test ghoul WIP. Question is, how will it look after I've washed it!? Hopefully the colours will be somewhat aligned to the skeletons and mummies.

Update maybe tomorrow night...

Those ghouls do look the business, and the pro-elves are sweet.

My Khemri team back in my fumbbl days was the Bare-Boned Penetrators, but I like yours too smile.gif

Here is the Ghoul with a wash:

IPB Image

And a colour comparison with a skellie:

IPB Image

Ghoul is a bit small (skellie is a bit big!) but the colours seem ok.

Hack Enslash looks like he is probably done:

Aaaand, another WIP:

I like the ghoul size and the colours are good. Are you going to make any tree down/rooted counters or try and lie him down?

Just in case anyone is wondering this is the team that whooped Tyra_Nid in the league, will win WAACYbowl on the weekend and will win the MWM League. (I may or may not have lost the only WAACY practice game last weekend to Tyra...)
